A Memorial Day Service will be conducted on Monday, May 31st by the St. John Francis Regis Knights of Columbus Council #7914 at St. John's. The service consists of a Living Rosary at 6pm, Memorial Mass at 7pm, and an outside program at 8pm, followed by a reception in the hall. The guest speaker will be Rear Admiral Gaddis, Commander, Naval Air Warfare Center, Patuxent River.
In case of inclement weather, the program and Living Rosary will be held in the Monsignor Harris Center. All are welcome to attend to remember and honor our deceased veterans. Desserts welcome for reception.

St. John's School Yard Sale/Craft Fair
ST. JOHN'S SCHOOL will be having an indoor yard sale/craft fair on Saturday, May 22, 2010, from 7am to 12noon. The sale will be held in the Monsignor Harris Center, 43900 St. John’s Rd.
There will also be a bake sale and raffle drawing. Donations are still being accepted, or join the sale by renting table space for $20.
Vendors and Crafters Welcome! Come join the consultants from Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Simply Tasteful, Mary Kay, Earrings by Marion Wright, Scholastic Books, Lia Sophia, and Hawaiian Joe’s Italian Ice.
Some featured items include, wood dining room and kitchen tables, entertainment centers, wood bedroom furniture, wood coffee tables, bikes, computer, brass bed frame, air compressor, children’s golf clubs, CDs, children’s clothes, school uniforms, DVD players, TVs, books, baseball cards, jewelry and much more.
To make a donation, or to reserve a table, contact Carol at 301-884-8571.

St. John's Spirit Night - Blue Crabs Game!!
St. John’s is scheduled to have a Spirit Night at the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs Ball Team on Friday, May 14th, 2010 when the Blue Crabs host the Somerset Patriots at 7:05 p.m. with “Fireworks” scheduled directly after the game.
With every ticket purchased 50% goes back to the church. Note: In order for your purchase to qualify for this fundraiser, you must choose a seat in the Green Section 8 and 9 If all tickets are sold, Blue Crabs will open additional seats for the fundraiser opportunity.

Note: The night of the game the wristbands will be full-price - $15.00. Pre-payment required. Wristbands will be available for pick-up game night at the Stadium Will-Call Office.
Volunteer Opportunities: The end of the school year is approaching … do you have all your volunteer hours? Volunteer opportunities will be available for selling tickets after masses.

Flowering Hanging Basket Sale

St. John’s 8th Grade class is sponsoring a flowering, hanging basket fundraiser just in time for Mother’s Day. A large selection of gorgeous hanging baskets will be available for sale after all Masses on Sunday, May 2 (the weekend BEFORE Mother’s Day) outside of church. Varieties include Million Bells, Geraniums (regular and ivy type), Torenia and New Guinea Impatiens. Remember Mom or just beautify your own home!

- Morning Prayer at 8:00AM
- Stations of the Cross at 3:00PM
- Veneration of the Cross Liturgy - 7:00PM. Confessions will follow the evening service - this will be the last opportunity for confessions before Easter.
April 3rd - Holy Saturday
- Morning Prayer at 8:00AM with Blessing of Easter Baskets directly following.
- Easter Vigil at 8:00PM (this Mass is always about two hours long)
April 4th - Easter Sunday
- Masses at 7:00AM, 8:30AM, 10:00AM, and 11:30AM.
- Easter Egg hunt following the 11:30AM mass (approx 12:45PM).
