Bringing Joy and Hope to Others

A Jesse Tree will be set up in the Msgr. Harris Center from November 22 until December 7. Please consider taking a tag from the tree for a needy child (white tags) or a needy senior (green tags) member of our community. Help us turn what for some is a season of loneliness and no hope into one of joy and renewed faith in the kindness of others.

Gifts must be returned (unwrapped, with your tag taped to them) to the Msgr. Harris Center no later than Sunday, December 7.  Decorated containers for gift wrap, gift bags, bows and gift tag donations will also be provided near the Jesse Tree.  A box for deposit of gift cards with the tags will be near the tree.

The Parish Clean Up scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2014 has been postponed to Saturday, April 5, 2014 due to the weather.

Our 4th Annual St. John's Father Daughter Dance is this Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. Daughters from 1 to 71 are invited to bring their father, grandfather, or another father figure to this event.

St. John's Youth Group Attends the March for Life

St. John’s Youth Group sponsored two charter buses to the Youth Rally and Mass for Life on Wednesday, January 22nd, after which the bus of middle school students proceeded to the Basilica of the National Shrine and the high school bus proceeded to the March for Life.  In spite of the nasty snow storm and wind chills dipping below zero, many students showed up at St. John’s by 5:00am to start the day.  Fr. Ray and a number of chaperones joined the high school students as they braved one of the coldest Marches for Life in 41 years.  The Youth Group is already making plans for next year’s March for Life.  Here are some pictures of our youth!
